Wollam Gardens CSA
Each year, here at Wollam Gardens we like to experiment with new farming practices, new design techniques, new products, and now a new method of getting our beautiful fresh cut flowers into your home! For the summer months of 2019, we have been offering an option to be a part of our community by joining Wollam’s CSA!
Thanks to a crop of dedicated customers, we are fully subscribed for our 2019 CSA, and shares are now sold out.
However, if you live near Wollam Gardens and are willing to pick up your share directly from the farm itself, we may still have room to accommodate you. If you’d like to place an order for a farm pickup CSA, call or leave a message at 540-937-3222.
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture; designed to get our best products to you in a scheduled fashion. It not only guarantees you with our local flowers, it also guarantees that we sell our crop and keep this beautiful place running!
CSAs are paid for by customers upfront, providing us with the needed capital to expand our business over the course of the year.
They are a wonderful way for our customers to show support for the local flowers we grow here at Wollam Gardens regardless of unforeseeable trials or triumphs we may endure over the seasons like weather and crop failure. This reiterates that the farm crew here at Wollam and our customers are ‘in it together’! You support us and this place while we support you with the freshest and most beautiful local blooms.
How it’s going to work…
Our CSA will last over a 16 week period (May-August) with each share being collected twice a month, for a total of 8 flower shares picked up throughout the 16 week long CSA season.
Each share will come with an emailed newsletter that will give you more information on the flowers you are receiving that week, including interesting details on how they were planted, grown, and harvested by our team. We will also be sending out information on opportunities to come to the farm and harvest your own share (one time per CSA member/season)!
Flower shares will be delivered to the DC area / or picked up directly from the farm each week of the season. We would love to make it as convenient as possible for each one of you. If you have any ideas or thoughts on pick up, we would love to hear them.
This is our very first year with a CSA, if you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or concerns please reach out! You can email our CSA manager, Claire at firstname.lastname@example.org.
