Welcome to Wollam Gardens and our 11 acres of blooms and bushes, fields, hoop houses, and hills of flowers! We are excited to host you.
Here’s how it works:
First, enter the gift shop and find a map of Wollam Gardens on the desk near the computer. Second, walk out to the Flower Station (the covered area next to the Greenhouse where there are lots of tables). If you don’t have your own clippers, you may borrow a pair of ours; they are in a round gray container. (Please don’t lose them and bring them back!) You’ll also need to find rubber bands, which you can put around your wrist; they are in another round gray container. And you’ll need a bucket with some water in it—about a third full is fine, and the sink is easy to see. If you need help with any of this, just ask!
Next, make clean cuts and always cut way down the stem, and avoid cutting too much from any one plant or area. Once you have a bundle of flowers—anywhere from 5 to 10 stems—you can rubber band them. Count up your blooms, consult the pricing sheet, and come to a total. Back at the gift shop, you can pay with cash, by check, or our preference – by Venmo: @aflowerdestination. Remember to put the stems back in the bucket so the flowers stay hydrated until it’s time for you to head back.
