A Seasonal Series: Walking Workshops at Wollam Gardens : June 16th

Greetings, Delightful Dendrophiles!

On behalf of Wollam Gardens, I am excited to invite you to celebrate the lives of the marvelous deciduous and evergreen trees that inhabit our 11-acre flower farm and Level One Arboretum, where we have more than 20 species of trees you can learn about. In 2024 we’ll be holding four walking workshops led by the talented and immensely knowledgeable Ashley Appling.

We’ll be walking from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 17; June 16; September 1, and December 15th, 2024.  It's a great opportunity to get the family outside, and yes, you can bring a dog if you like (leashed). Come dressed for the weather, including good footwear -- boots or other shoes you don’t mind getting a bit wet or muddy. We will have a warm or cold beverage (depending on the season) and some cookies to keep you going! When you leave, you’ll have handouts and a tree memento.

Light rain or shine, the workshops will be held. If it really pouring, we’ll postpone to a rain date -- which would be the following Sunday, except for the March workshop, which would be postponed until the Sunday afternoon two weeks later.

Ikebana Workshop with Arrin Sutliff of Tint Floral (Copy)

Ikebana is the Japanese art of floral design. Learn principles (rules, ratios, angles) and how this approach can be applied to other types of gestural design. People tend to “overstuff”, thinking more is more when it comes to flowers and it ends up looking messy. This practice teaches us to be intentional with negative space and highlight the flowers' natural form. Click below to Register/get more info!
*Flowers from the farm are included in the course fee.

Cost: $110
max participants 15
